Written examinations and tutor assessments are carried out after every module to allow students to recognise potential deficiencies and thus correct them. The course culminates in a final exercise, which the students rotate between 3 major roles.
On completion, students are graded and given a course report. The SIA licence examination is also taken during the final week. This is externally marked and results notified in the form of a certificate.
Details are also electronically up-loaded to the SIA. The SIA License requirement is 150hrs Guided Learning Hours but CTR CP Certificate is 220hrs with a written and practical exam. Your portfolio at the end of the training will have:

NORFOLK
The owner of a downtown nightclub that was recently the scene of violence is temporarily closing his doors.
Kenny Bullock sent an email to city officials saying he has closed The Palace on Plume Street to re-evaluate the inner and outer workings of the business.
Four people were stabbed during a fight at the club in late August, and a suspect, from Richmond, was arrested. Late last month a man was shot 2in the cheek during a fight outside the club in a case that remains open.
Bullock declined to be interviewed. His attorney, Kevin Martingayle, said in a statement that the shooting was not connected to the club.
“Solely in the interest of promoting public safety, the decision has been made to close the Palace temporarily and review all security measures,” Martingayle said. “No one requested this action.
The Palace did not have any involvement in the recent criminal events that occurred outside of the business, but obviously the owner has concerns that this happened close by.”
In recent years, Norfolk’s bar task force has taken action against several downtown nightclubs. In 2009, Norfolk officials stripped Waterside clubs Have a Nice Day Cafe and Bar Norfolk of licenses to serve alcohol and later shut down Posh Dolche on Granby Street.
In 2011, The Palace was cited for code violations for problems such as overcrowding and lewd conduct.
In early 2012, Commonwealth s Attorney Greg Underwood testified at an Alcoholic Beverage Control hearing3 that Bullock should not be allowed to be an ABC manager because of a 1995 cocaine conviction.
Bullock was arrested in Maryland with 21 pounds of cocaine, $2,000 in cash and a clip of ammunition in his car. He served time in prison, completed probation and has said he is a changed man.
He also owns a construction company.
City Manager Marcus Jones and City Council members – with the exception of Tommy Smigiel – have supported Bullock thus far.
Kevin Murphy, president of the Downtown Norfolk Civic League, said Bullock is making a wise move.
“It was a wise thing for them to do while the police investigation is ongoing and things get sorted out to just take a step back,” he said. “There probably would have been pressure for the bar task force to take action if they had stayed open.”

Ten minutes downriver from Saphan Taksin BTS station this once-bustling international trade port has been transformed, with over 1,500 boutiques and 40 restaurants housed under a huge replica warehouse complex. Open from 17:00, spending an evening here is no problem: you ll have good fun browsing the boutiques, picking up gifts or something for yourself; you are guaranteed to find something you would like to eat and if this isn t enough entertainment, shows are performed nightly: Calypso ladyboy cabaret and soon, a classic Thai puppets performance.
The easiest and fastest way to get there is via boat.
Take the BTS to Saphan Taksin and jump on the free shuttle at the end of the pier. It only takes ten minutes, and the boat runs until 23:00. Taxis are not recommended as the traffic can be terrible in this area.
From the boat you step off onto a long boardwalk which runs for 300 metres that looks romantic once the sun has set. Wide streets run between each warehouse and Asiatique provides retro props for photo opportunities: a reproduction tram car, anchors and a push cart. The decor does feel a little overdone on occasion and not quite in keeping with the designers plans to evoke nostalgia for the 1900s but it s so well planned, clean and spacious that the lack of history doesn t really matter.
Once you enter the hangars, you appreciate the design even more; this is probably the only market in Bangkok where you can find a stall by looking at a map.
Asiatique is split into four categories to help you find what you are looking for without too much hassle.
The Chareonkrung District is where you will find the majority of the small boutiques (over 1,000 in four warehouses) selling souvenirs, handicrafts, jewellery, and clothing. The little storefronts are attractive, the displays are interesting and there is a wide range on offer too, from fashionable Thai brands to affordable stores selling merchandise similar to those on offer in places like Chatuchak and MBK.
The focus at Asiatique is more on cutting-edge fashion and gadgets in the Factory District, including an Apple store. Upscale dining selection can be found in the Waterfront District, with smart Italian, Thai and seafood restaurants.
The Town Square district has bars and outdoor space for events. Some independent cafes are dotted around selling strong drinks and decently priced Thai food. Asiatique also has branches of KFC, Pizza Company, Au Bon Pain and MK.
As well as all this food and shopping, the two biggest entertainment draws are the Thai puppets by Joe Louis Theatre and Calypso Cabaret1, one of Bangkok s celebrated ladyboy shows. Both these shows have been attracting large audiences for years, and Asiatique is the perfect new surrounding for them, offering so much more than just a performance.
The selection of shops is interesting, with a good range of unusual brands rather than row upon row of tourist trinkets. This bazaar is busy but isn t overrun by tourists; crowds of locals enjoy coming here too.
Asiatique is definitely worth dedicating an evening to.

With the clocks going forward this weekend, householders across Norfolk and Suffolk are being urged not to make it easy for potential thieves.
Officers are advising people to pay extra attention to home, bike and vehicle security with the onset of lighter nights often seen as an opportunist time for this type of crime.
Norfolk Chief Superintendent Mike Fawcett said: “Most thefts are carried out by opportunist criminals.
The coming summer months can bring with them thieves on the look-out for lapses in security such as doors and windows left open, bicycles poorly secured or property left on display at beauty spot car parks.
“People are advised to be aware and make use of simple crime prevention methods which deprive thieves of the opportunity to steal.”
Norfolk Constabulary offers the following advice to residents:
Windows
Always lock your windows when you leave the house.
Remove the keys and keep them in a safe place.
However, everyone should know where the keys are kept so they can escape in an emergency.
Doors
Keep your front and back doors locked or in view when you are at home.
Use or consider fitting a door chain and spy hole – a chain allows you to speak to the caller without opening the door fully and the spy hole also you to see who is at the door.
Fit five lever mortice locks to all external doors.
Check your cylinder locks on patio/plastic doors and ensure they are snap and bump resistant – a local Master Locksmith can advise if you are not sure.
Keys
Never leave a spare key in a convenient hiding place such as under the doormat, burglars know all the usual hiding places.
Never leave your house or car keys in or near a door or window.
Attention should also be paid to the security of sheds and garages and to the property stored within.
Parked cars especially those left in remote areas such as beauty spots should be left locked and secure with no property left on display and satellite navigation devices, car audio equipment, cameras, handbags and laptops should be removed from the vehicle entirely.
Bikes should always be left secure, using a sturdy lock covering the bike stand, wheel rim and frame together.
People attending large scale events or out and about in busy areas should be mindful of thieves and keep handbags closed and mobile phones out of sight and kept securely on their person.
Chief Superintendent Fawcett added: “Norfolk is an extremely safe place to live and your chances of being a victim of such crimes still remain extremely low, but you should consider making your house look like someone is at home.
“With the weather improving, more of us will be out and about so please remember to keep your property secure and don t become an easy target.
“We would also encourage people to be a good neighbour – if anyone is spotted acting suspiciously in your neighbourhood, call the police.”
